EHS Engineer / Environment, Health and Safety Engineer

 

Purpose of Position: Implement, promote, and ensure the implementation of the policy of EHS (environment, health and safety), and processes for Maintenance of Workshop equipment, ensuring active participation employees and contractors.  Implement the training and actively educate staff in the identification, removal and prevention of environmental impacts, accident or damage to health, because of his work and company activities in general.

Report in the organization:

 

  • Hierarchically reports to Head of EHS of the area.
  • Functionally reports to Workshop Project Manager.

  • Project Managers
  • Project Manager teams (Heads of Maintenance, Supervisors, and Technicians).
  • Product lower level staff (Technician, HR, Quality, Engineering)

 

 

Mission

Responsibilities:

 

  • Implementation of EHS procedures and safety plans.
  • The application and respect of rules and safety in the Workshop.
  • Training controls of workshop staff. Train the Workshop staff on EHS and highlight the specific risks of their environment.
  • Training registration related to safety.
  • Support in the administrative management of procedures in case of accident in accordance with the Department of Personnel.
  • Report on the system of EHS online with rules and contractual and local regulations of ALSTOM.
  • Make reports upon EHS issues according to the contractual/internal needs.
  • Ensure that employees operate in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies

 

Commitment:

 

  • Define EHS needs of Workshops or Sites and provide support for implementation.
  • Ensure communication processes about EHS Policies to employees.

 

Perfomance Measure:

 

  • EHS objectives (KPI).

Educational requierements:

 

  • Risk Prevention Engineer, or Risk Prevention technician

 

Technical Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge of Local Norms according to position (Occupational Environment and Safety).
  • English and/or French, intermediate level.
  • Office knowledge, intermediate level.

 

Abilities and Personal skills:

 

  • Proactive.
  • Organized.
  • Methodical.
  • Compassionate.
  • Ability to work under presure.
  • Interpersonal skills.

 

Experience:

 

  • At least 2 years of expierence, in similar positions.
