  • Maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom project management and execution processes, according to contractual requirements and customer expectations,
  • Be accountable for project financial performance.
  • Ensure Alstom legal and contractual rights are protected,
  • Seek and propose to the Customer Director / Platform additional opportunities.
  • Manage risks & savings to improve the Project margin.
  • Identify commercial and contractual opportunities for the business and facilitate their introduction.
  • Control the Contract variations and lead with any contractual changes or issues that may arise.



1/ Be accountable for project performance and optimize project financial performance (Margin & Cash)

2/ Be responsible for the project governance. Define project strategy in line with contract requirements, including PMP elaboration and objectives allocation to Sub-Systems (planning, cost, quality, performance)


3/ Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders including:

  • Definition of Project objectives, commercial and legal strategy, and main drivers to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the Contract
  • Resources management:
    • In collaboration with the General Manager, define in advance project core team staffing, as well as his/her WP resources
    • Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs
  • Team leading, including Core Team and when applicable Managers of internal and external partners:
    • Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project/ goals.
    • Engage project teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them
    • Synchronize internal partners and arbitrate when necessary
    • Put in place an annual process of financial forecasting and reporting of actual results against these forecasts.
    • Implement the Monthly Project Review (MPR) process and participate with Platform Director and Project Manager
    • Ensure, with Contract Manager(s), that contractual/legal issues are properly handled
    • Ensure that the management of the company’s assets and liabilities are monitored and controlled effectively (including suppliers, payroll, bank accounts, etc).
    • Provide results, forecasts, budgets and 3-year plan.
    • Prepare CAPEX files.
    • Ensure that the company’s financial accounts are maintained in line with professional accountancy standards and with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Manage the cost aspects of the penalties for under-performance and for the extras related to variations.
  • Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management
  • Management of the project progress, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the business/critical project reviews. Is the representative of the project towards Alstom management.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual


4/ Manage customer and external stakeholders’ relationship

  • Continuously ensuring alignment with customer contractual requirements
  • Alstom representative towards Customers and when applicable external stakeholders
  • Ensuring contract management and variation orders towards customer
  • Alignment with contractual requirements and management of variation orders. Arbitration of Q,C,D,P re-baselining and change management at project level. Manage claim and litigations.


Performance measurements:  

  • Project Performance Indicator (PPI)
  • Order Intake, Gross Margin at Order Intake, Cash Curve
  • Sales, Gross Margin at Completion, Cash In, Customer Satisfaction
  • Variation Orders (volume, margins)
  • Gate review Go on time / OTD- GR
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • EHS when applicable


Educational Requirements

Mandatory: Graduate Degree in Engineering or Business field

Desirable: Master of Business Administration or in Engineering)




  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in rail or related business, or project engineering industry.
  • High proficiency in organization’s products and services.
  • Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures


  • Knowledgeable of ALSTOM way of working for efficient process execution
  • Good knowledge and connections with Transport clients / customers in the Country/Cluster/Region
