For our Ottawa Service project, we are looking for one Maintenance Vehicle Manager.

 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To direct, lead and manage maintenance operations at Rolling stock level. (1 yard - potentially 2 yards after 2023)

Manage the  fleet maintenance schedules / cleaning / servicing activities and act as interface with the  Customer team and operation team.

Ensure availability & performance targets are achieved in line with Customer requirements.

Manage warranty operations on Rolling stock during two years for stage 1 (TBC)

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Maintenance Vehicle Manager, you will:

•             Manage and develop execution of maintenance strategy and QCD targets.

•             Ensure that relevant Product Safety objectives are known and shared (appropriate processes are in place, monitored and measured)

•             Lead the Development and implementation a continuous improvement plan of operations.

•             Have day , week and monthly maintenance plans in place

•             Manages action plans to ensure Alstom objectives are met including cost of non-quality.

•             Ensure compliance to the requirements of Environmental Health and Safety and Quality Policy of the contract and ALSTOM

•             Manage the day-to-day contact with Customer regarding service provision of the rolling stock and rolling stock equipment to improve efficiency and maximise capacity.

•             Support exceptional schedule changes in line with Commercial/Customer requirements

•             Ensure implementation of an optimised organisation (in size, structure and profiles) in order to deliver our contractual engagement

•             Control and adapt resources to the maintenance workload

•             Manage and motivate operational teams in alignment to the group values of Trust, Team and Action and ensure the performance standards are properly set (yearly objective setting, performance review and development plan for all the employees)

 •            Integrate any change standard in their maintenance operations (stage 2)

•             Integrate to their team the operational warranty team from ALSTOM Rolling stock Project and support their performances (TBC)

•               Be part of the devellopment of new process and new tools with the Engineering team

  • 11 to 50 direct reports

 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Graduate engineering background with 2 to 5 years experience in the railway industry or technical background with 8 to 10 years experience in the railway industry
  • Experienced manager in either a maintenance or production environment
  • Good knowledge of implementing and managing Quality, Safety and Environmental systems
  • IT literate ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Languages : English fluent - French facultative
