Your future role

Join our Nowergup team as a Yard Master, where you'll play a critical role in coordinating safe and efficient rail operations within the depot. Leading shunting activities and managing railcar movements, you'll work closely with depot stakeholders and operational teams to ensure trains are delivered into service on time. This hands-on role combines leadership, operational coordination, troubleshooting, and maintenance support, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. If you're a proactive team player with a strong focus on rail safety and operational excellence, this is an opportunity to make a real impact in a dynamic rail environment. We’ll look to you for;

• Coordinating and controlling all railcar shunting and piloting movements to ensure safe and efficient depot operations.
• Leading and supporting Shunters in the execution of rail movements in accordance with rail safety standards and operating procedures.
• Collaborating with depot customers, operational stakeholders, and management teams to ensure trains are delivered into service on schedule.
• Supporting railcar maintenance activities, including fault finding, troubleshooting, and authorised specialised processes.
• Recording and maintaining accurate operational, maintenance, and compliance documentation using relevant systems and tools.
• Ensuring compliance with all rail safety, quality, environmental, and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality outcomes.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, asset presentation, and workplace organisation in line with 5S principles.
• Responding to operational disruptions, breakdowns, and urgent maintenance requirements to support service continuity.
• Participating in ongoing training and multi-skilling activities to support operational flexibility and capability development.
