Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Operations Manager in Nowergup and work alongside collaborative and supportive teammates. You’ll manage the depot and run the shifts, instructing the train maintenance team what activities will be carried out. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, quality and warranty), you'll deliver start of shift and end of shift briefings and much more. In this role, you will be required to participate in a rotating shift roster of 2 weeks on days (Mon - Fri, 5:30am - 2pm) and 2 weeks on nights (Sun - Thurs, 9:30pm - 5:30am).

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading the maintenance team, providing feedback and informal discussions with team members 
  • Co-ordinating the line of route ensuring that equipment, tooling and work environment is left in a safe place
  • Leading team members to uphold site safety, including reporting of any unsafe acts, process/procedure deviation
  • Taking a proactive approach to support Production Managers in understanding and resolving team issues
  • Ensuring all documentation and procedures are at the correct revision and signed off in full when completed
  • Completing the shift paperwork (exam, daily, safety sheets) and ensuring that the team follow the standard processes 
  • Providing real time updates to the Production Manager on work progress against the agreed plan, SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost) deviations and adverse events
  • Carrying out audit of processes to ensure feedback from team members to continually improve the process or procedures
  • Supporting the team to identify process changes and implement smarter ways of working.

  • Self-motivated, proactive and a Team Player
  • The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance operations, ideally withing Rail/Rolling stock or similar
  • A trade qualitication in Electrotechnology or Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
  • Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
