We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Project Procurement Manager position within the Project Procurement Department. The position will report to the Head of Project Procurement and is based in Dunnottar, Nigel (Gauteng Province).

 

Job Purpose

Member of the Gibela Sourcing team, the Project Sourcing Manager will be the main interface between the project team and the Gibela sourcing department and will focus on the following activities:

  • Secure that suppliers  (QCD+ED) Quality, Cost, Delivery and Economic Development performances are in line with objectives for the project
  • Contribute to the overhaul ramp up through development of robust suppliers and implementation of double-sourcing program.
  • Manage the Sub-System work-package

Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Manage the sourcing activity of the Project

 

  • Ensure that the overall QCD+ED target of the WP material under their responsibility is met
  • Participate to the project and Change Management Committee
  • Participate and contribute to the Monthly Project Reviews
  • Identify and minimize all risks and maximize savings
  • Identify opportunities that will result in improved productivity, quality, costs, delivery and economic development performances
  • Ensure availability of the purchaser requests on time and on quality for take-over by the buyers, availability of the material for the maintenance and overhaul service

 

2. Communicate project needs and ensure they are properly taken into account

 

  • Define clear priorities for the sourcing department to properly support the project
  • Challenge new gaps identified, incorporates Return on Experience, escalate if any critical delay is occurring in specification availability, facilitates co-operation between Engineering and Sourcing, ask for arbitration in case of conflict
  • Publish the specific legal and contractual requirements to be taken into account in negotiation, after analysis of the customer specific demand and after decision with the internal stakeholders to cascade these requirements to the suppliers

 

3. Define and implement the Project Sourcing Strategy in full respect of QCD&ED commitments

 

  • Establish and agree with the Project Director/Project Managers on the Project Sourcing Strategy, in line with the overall Sourcing strategy (panel, localization and preferential procurement objectives, dual sources, etc.)
  • Animate supplier selection through Request for Quotation and Business Award processes, escalate for arbitration when relevant
  • Based on Sourcing, Engineering and SPQD output, supervise contracts execution of selected suppliers until FAI (First Article Inspection) milestone
  • Manage the Supplier Delivery Performance 

 

4. Manage the Sourcing work-package

 

  • Review periodically the QCD&ED of the WP Sourcing with all relevant stakeholders, establish a robust “at completion” vision, taken into account risks, committed and secured savings
  • Establish bridge analysis at each GPR cycle with the support of the WP Controller
  • Support the negotiations of yearly price reviews towards suppliers

 

5. Methods and Tools

 

  • Contribute to the correct application of defined methods and tools
  • Ensure compliance to internal control best practices
  • Support internal and external audits i.e APSYS

 

Candidate Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (sourcing, supply chain, engineering, project management…)

 

Technical Knowledge / Experience:

 

  • Interest in technical field
  • 5 years of experience, ideally in Project, Sourcing, Industrial Engineering, Quality 

 

Mandatory Skills:

 

  • Excel skills required, deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics and analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Good analytical skills
  • Adaptability
