Utilities, Facilities & Maintenance Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Manages all contracts for facilities in all locations where Alstom Ubunye operates (clients depot, JV repair centre, own repair centre) as well as interventions to utilities, buildings and equipment made by external or internal personnel, and also investments process related to utilities/equipment and facilities.
Manage the facilities maintenance team across the different locations.
Manage strategy for maintenance and CAPEX to serve operational activity across depot and repair centres

Located in Gauteng area, the job involves some mobility to suppliers, client depots, repair centres.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• To manage the utilities and maintenance department and ensure the activities report of the team.
• To report the compliance with the contractual obligations by the utilities /PSI suppliers and to manage the action plans and regularly reports of the utilities supplier’s performance
• To report monthly the current costs of the utilities in Alstom facilities,
• To propose and implement solutions for costs optimization
• To define, develop, improve and co-ordinate the Industrial activities concerning investment and means supplied in South Africa
• To establish together with the equipment maintenance contractors the planning of the maintenance activities
• To participate into the assessment and selection of suppliers for equipment maintenance
• To establish the technical content of the communications with the utility’s suppliers
• To participate and be involved in APSYS actions (actions like TPM, work instructions for equipment preventive maintenance) to guarantee overall equipment availability and effectiveness
• To manage the reception process for the suppliers that assure the interventions on buildings and equipment
• To manage and follows up the optimum functioning of equipment and buildings installations with the utilities and maintenance team.
• To report the required data of equipment in conformity with the industrial needs: availability of equipment and follow-up of the linked indicators.
• To manage the update of data related to equipment in the informatics tools used internally (equipment database)
• To ensure the follow-up of all the equipment documentation (paper and informatics support)
• To perform periodic training of subordinate workers
• To define, develop and co-ordinate the maintenance activity on all means
• To supervise, follow-up performance, availability and quality and all major equipment
• To support Industrial Operations QCD objectives
• To undertake other duties as specified by the /Site MD / Industrial Manager
• To develop foresight view (benchmark, “veille technologique”)
• To carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.
• To adhere to Company procedures especially in relation to Quality and Health & Safety.
• To establish work tasks and organise the activity in accordance with the requirements of safety
• To ensure that his staff meets the EHS requirements and take action according to the internal procedures in case of misconduct
• To attend regular team briefings
• To read reports and manuals as and when required.
• To report accidents/incidents, and the work done to validate or maintain the tools.
• To promote collaborative work (common and shared processes)
• To train new members of the team
• To drive company vehicles when required and applicable

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Technical university education
IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
English fluency
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
Industrial background with minimum 5 years’ experience in activities of operation and maintenance preferably in the railway industry or
Technical background with minimum 5 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry, ideally in an international organization
Management experience
Experience related to follow-up of subcontracted activity
Experience related to the management of utilities
Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, and software specifications
Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems preferable
