Alstom Ubunye (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Maintenance Engineer for our Compo project based in Nigel.

Interfaces: The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Plan and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance + Breakdown Maintenance on all Alstom Ubunye equipment according to the maintenance procedure, EHS Rules and according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Ensure that all equipment runs safely and reliably and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate breakdowns and analyse the root cause.
- Minimise down time and make sure production is not affected by either planned or unplanned maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance KPI`S
KEY NETWORK & LINKS :
- Support Functions, e.g. ; Supply-Chain, production, quality, Sourcing, EHS, PME, Finance.
- Supplier of Equipment & services
- Maintenance sub-contractors
MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan, supervise, and monitor the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities (including calibrations and other interventions)
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are detailed, documented, reviewed and implemented correctly (Mainti 4).
- Ensure minimum disruption of manufacturing activities through effective planning, communication, and coordination with other stakeholders.
- Investigate breakdowns and interruptions through the application of root cause analysis and other techniques & report on findings.
- Monitor and record plant availability, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and other KPI’s (MTBF, MTTR etc) & PPM adherence.
- Ensure all maintenance activity complies with maintenance procedures and EHS regulations.
- Ensure that sub-contractors are inducted, supervised, and disciplined to adhere to quality and safety requirements
- To establish together with the equipment maintenance contractors the planning of the maintenance activities
- To perform periodic training of Level 1 maintenance for production & L2 for maintenance technicians
- To undertake other duties as specified by the Maintenance + Facilities and Maintenance Manager

- MTTR adherence to get for key breakdown

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Technical University Education – Mechatronics/Mechanical Degree
- IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- English fluency
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Hands on Maintenance background with minimum 5 years’ experience in activities of operation and maintenance preferably in manufacturing
- Technical background with minimum 5 years’ experience
- Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, and software specifications
- Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems preferable
