Job Title :                                                   Logistics Operators (Limited Duration Contract)

Location:                                                   Nigel - Gauteng 

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • You are in charge of executing physical flows of the goods (purchased and manufactured items delivered from external suppliers and linefeed ): Short blasting, put away, storage, picking and line feeding, packing, shipping, materials handling inventory counts. Your target is to support production line on time per station as per MPS requirements.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

Main tasks:

  • Apply rules in order to operate in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Daily operations of equipment’s (Stacker, Forklift), performing daily inspections, keeping the machines clean, and submitting the PGI last day of every month without  failure.
  • Daily management of picking and stacking material according to warehouse layout.
  • Daily management of 5s around the supply chain department and ensuring the waste bins are removed from the warehouse every morning or end of shift without fail.
  • Daily management of cycle counts and assisting the team with variance investigations.
  • Perform inventory control & optimised material flow within the site – including receiving, picking, packing, offloading, kitting and stock counting.
  • Ensure the preservation of materials during all processes (handling, storage, line feeding, NCR, shipment.)
  • Load and off-loading of materials from trucks into shop81/83 and 39/41.
  • Prioritize its activities according to emergencies (manage missing parts)
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the processes by being a force of proposal ( APSYS)
  • Assisting with other warehouse & logistics tasks and ensuring a preparedness for changing production demands.
  • Create Delivery notes for supplier trucks leaving site as part of receiving activities
  • Interaction with delivery personnel upon receiving of material and goods
  • Prepare goods and material for dispatch as per instructions and processes

 

 

     

 

 

Below the different key process activities where logistic operators can work :

 

Storage

  • Understand Logistics/supply chain Golden rules
  • Apply safe conditions of storage (max. weight capacity) and EHS rules for hazardous materials
  • Proceed to report  scrap after receiving the management authorization

Inventory

  • Respect and follow procedures for inventory counting rules (blind count, stock reconciliation and delegation of authority, …)
  • Carry out the logistical processing of NCR (Non Conformity Report) according to the established NCR process
  • Track the NCR physically and in the system (segregated or jail area, blocked stock, …)
  • Create, treat and follow the logistics NCR based on the inputs provided by the teams (detection of non-compliance, …)
  • Work closely with quality and material planning teams on a daily basis to solve and close the NCR within a reasonable delay

 

Picking & line feeding

  • Perform the picking and kitting activities on time as per picking list  (picking-list, labels)  and prepare material for the production line at the expected level (parts individually identified, protected and easily accessible)
  • Respect the footprint as per layout & making sure that all materials are clearly labelled and easily identified

Packing & shipping

  • Treat the delivery to PRD request on time, realize packing accordingly.

NCR logistic cell

Handling

  • Respect the handling and storage rules in force (have the required specific qualifications, driving license, …)

Housekeeping duties

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

  • Educational Requirements Logistics experience will be advantageous

Mandatory Education

  • Matric

Desirable:

  • Logistics or Supply chain Certificate/Diploma

Experience

Mandatory:

  • 2– 5 years working experience within a warehouse / logistics environment
  • Experience of forklift driving (for forklift drivers only)
  • Forklift driving license (for forklift drivers only)

Desirable:

  • Knowledgeable of warehouse /Stores environment
  • Basics Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S
