Your future role
An exciting opportunity has become available to join us as a Test & Warranty Engineer. In this role you will be joining Alstom’s X’Trapolis Product Introduction team and provide support in testing of train sub systems, fault finding, field modifications, fleet checks, spare parts, warranty, reliability improvement and reporting and maintenance of Alstom new X’Trapolis 2.0 Trains. You will also be the primary contact for technical support to the costumer operators and maintainers when trains are in operation. As part of this role you will be required to be based at several locations across the Melbourne Metro area.
We’ll look to you for:
- Executing the test procedures and test plans for the train systems.
- Performing functional, integration, regression, type and routine testing on train sub system systems.
- Troubleshooting faults and failures on train sub systems, fault find electrical circuits or software system.
- Reading and interpreting Electrical diagrams and schematics to fault-find and be able to mentor customer staff remotely on how to find the faults.
- Mentoring customer operators and maintainers on the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Analysing failure results and providing recommendations for improvements to enhance product reliability and performance.
- Championing train software for maintenance purposes, download the log of train sub system, interpret the data and draw conclusions.
All about you
To be successful in the role, you will have;
- A proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in ‘hands-on’ fault-finding and troubleshooting.
- The ability to participate in shift work for the first 6 months.
- Rail/Rolling Stock experience within a similar role.
- Tertiary qualifications, ideally Electrical or Mechatronic.
