Could you be the full-time Manager of Safety and Compliance in Jersey City, NJ we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your safety and complicance expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Joshua Booker (General Manager- Standardization and Operational Support), and work alongside exceptional, enthusiastic and collaborative teammates.

You’ll specifically be responsible for developing safety and training programs in alignment with the customer safety plan and training needs. Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations and provide guidance to field personnel. Create safety related training for employees. Perform day to day safety monitoring of safety related activities involving operational and maintenance employees. Oversee all items relating to regulations, rules, inspections, audits, testing, incident investigation, and corrective action plans. Utilize data to perform trending and tracking of hazards and provide a risk-based analysis of all incidents.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing submittal and support of the Training Plan under 49CFRPart 243 regulations.
  • Maintaining documentation of training and qualifications performed of contractors, subcontractors, third parties, Authority, and public agency employees.
  • Manage the Title 49, CFR, Part 219 program.
  • Ensuring contract compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and with Customer Standards, Rules, Regulations and Policies.
  • Performing field observations, and audits.
  • Developing training curriculum, programs, testing and qualification guidelines.
  • Developing a safety culture to ensure all staff are adequately trained and understand the Rules, Regulations and Safety Standards.
  • Performing regular consultation and plan meetings with the Authority’s Safety and training Manager.
  • Immediate condition response and initiate for care of employee(s), document, and investigation of incident and or accident.
  • Participating and attending authority Safety committee meetings, Root Cause Analysis and close out.
  • Follow up reporting, fact findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with Authority safety and risk management personnel.
  • Ensureing compliance with Federal State and local regulations.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical or safety related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification of ASP Associate Safety Professional preferable
  • Certification of CSP Certified Safety Professional preferable
  • 5 years of supervisorial experience in railroad operations or maintenance.
  • 10 years of experience in safety
  • 5 years’ experience developing and delivering training curricula or equivalent job related experience.  
  • Experience in incident investigation using various technics to determine root cause.
  • Requires familiarity with and ability to stay current with industry standards
