Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and proactive teammates. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing the safety and sustainability of our fixed Guideway system. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (operations, maintenance, and engineering), assist in the effective implementation of the EH&S program, and much more.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Assist in management of EH&S program for fixed Guideway system consisting of guideway, stations, operations maintenance storage facilities, vehicles, electrical substations, mainline automatic track switches, employees, and numerous contractors and vendors.

  • Develop/review and provide safety training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy.

  • Perform job analyses / hazard identification and risk assessment and developing safe work procedures as it pertains to employees' and contractors' job tasks, equipment, tools and special projects.

  • Investigate, analyze, and report fully, completely, and accurately details of accidents/incidents/near misses. Identify root cause(s) and contributing factors. Recommend processes and procedures that eliminate/reduce the possibility of accidents/incidents.

  • Perform EHS & system safety audits and EHS inspections on work activities of employees, contractors and vendors. Prepare reports and present to internal executives, as well as to the client and their consultants.

  • Assist in implementation of all safety and environmental related policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy, including emergency procedures, hazardous waste management, safety system program plan or equivalent, and accident investigations.

  • Assist in management of ISO 45001certification of Site, Joint health and safety committees, incident analysis, regular inspections, safety orientation, and safety observation programs.

  • Respond and resolve employee safety concerns, complaints and finding from inspections.

  • Regularly (monthly) communicate safety performance to site.

  • Conduct regular inspections of PPE and lifting gear.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

  • This position may require night shift duties for up to 5 -10 days per month.

  • This position may be required to cover weekends i.e. Saturday and Sunday

  • Delivers SMS (PTASP - Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan) training to engage and educate employees

  • Delivers new hire and contractor's trainings as needed

  • System Safety KPIs - Data collection and analysis

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Health, & Environmental Science, Management, or Engineering from and accredited college or university

  • 1-3 Years of experience minimum

  • Master’s degree or Accredited Professional Certifications (CSP, OHST, CIH, etc.), preferred.

  • Experience in programs involving:

  • Policy and Procedure Writing

  • System Safety Program Plans / SMS / ISO 45001

  • Electrical Safety and NFPA 70E

  • Incident and Accident Investigation

  • Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis / JSA

  • Root-Cause Analysis techniques

  • OSHA & EPA Regulations

  • ANSI and NFPA standards
