Position Overview:
For the position of Rolling Stock Interface Engineer, we are looking for a very skilled, experienced and motivated Rollingstock Engineer in order to face a very challenging project schedule for DMRC RS 17 Rolling Stock project.
Based in Delhi site project office, the candidiate will be part of the overall project core team, but he/she requires a strongly system interface backgorund. He/She will interface with all relevant interface system contractors leading to the acceptance of interface requirements of the contract. Direct reporting will be to the Project Manager/ Dy Project Manager -RS17, and functionally to the Project Engineering Manager/COD acccording to the Project Organization.
Network and relationship on the Porject Organisation will be 40% interface with Alstom Project Management and Engineering team. Remaining 60% external interface with Customer, Customer's Representatives, Govt Agencies, and Designated Contractors : System-wide Interface Contractors in-charge of installation and commisioning of Siganling, Telecom, Power Supply etc.
Performance evaluation will based on company/project KPI indicators and employee annual objectives, according to set milestones and targets assigned by the management.
Qualification:
Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical)
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in interface coordination and management of Rollingstock system
- Atleast experienced in one driverless metro rail project. (GoA4 level of operation)
The proposed IM should have minimum five (05) years of metro rolling stock project experience and should have worked on metro rolling stock project as a member of interface design and testing team, involving design, supply & commissioning of trains in GoA4.
Main Responsibilities:
- Candidate must have relevant experience in interface management/Testing and Commissioning of Metro RS
- Candidate must have subject knowledge of various interfaces involved in a metro project and should be well experienced in handling the System-wide Interfacing Contractors.
- Candidate must have good interpersonal skills to handle the Customer, Customer's Representative (GC) and the Interface Contractors.
- Candidate shall have good knowledge about experience in the field of Metro Rollingstock System Integration, Testing and Commissioning etc
- Candidate shall have strong sense of leadership, responsibility, accountability, trustworthiness, flexibility, coordination, leadership and teamwork.
- Candidate must know the Interface functions and will plan all interface management activities and arrange adequate milestone to keep track so as to achieve all deadlines.
- Candidate shall determine the resources required from beginning to end while keeping in mind budgetary constraints and will plan all construction operations and arrange adequate milestones to keep track so as to achieve all deadlines.
- Candidate shall co-ordinate his own work with that of all Interfacing Contractors and ensure that the design, construction, installation, and testing requirements of the Interfacing Contractors are incorporated into the Rollingstock Contractor’s co-ordinated plans, programmes and Works. The Candidate shall proactively seek out interface issues and solutions with the Customer/GC/\System-side Interfacing Contractors.
Interface Functions
- Preparing the Interface Management Plan and subsequent procedures, formats, records, documents etc in accordance with the contract requirements and submitting those IMP to the System-wide Interfacing Contractors for concurrence; for approval of the contractor/ Customer Representative (GC) for approval
- Preparing their Interface Coordination Sheets and Interface Specifications and issuing same to the relevant Interface Contractors and Customer / Customer Representative (GC)
- Co-ordinating with the relevant Interface Contractors to establish coordinated Drawings.
- responsible for detailed co-ordination of his design and manufacturing activities with those of the System-wide Contractors, Civil Contractors, Consultants, and other Contractors whether or not specifically mentioned in the contract, who may be working on or adjacent to the site for the purpose of the Project.
- Shall assess the progress of co-ordination with Designated Contractors by establishing lines of communications and promoting regular exchange and updating of information so as to maintain the Contractor's programme.
- To provide all information reasonably required by the Designated Contractors in a timely and professional manner to allow them to proceed with their Design, Manufacturing, Construction activities, and to meet their milestones and key dates.
- To ensure that all the requirements are furnished /conveyed to all other Designated Contractors, in a timely and reasonable manner with proper recording /MOM.
- To obtain information from the Designated Contractors, reasonably required, to enable the Contractor to meet his own design submission dates.
- To ensure very close co-ordination with Signaling & Communication Contractor, in respect of provision of Signal and Communication equipment in the cars, and finalizing the interface between the Rolling Stock and Signaling & Communication equipment.
