Job Title:

Maintenance Technician

Objective

Primary responsibilities involve the assembly and testing of wire harness assemblies and ground cables within the Work Center Cable Shop. Secondary objectives include performing repairs using manual and power tools, completing automated and manual testing on equipment. Adhere to all electronic, electrical, mechanical and CFC safety requirements. Work on equipment under the supervision of the Work Center Supervisor / Manager. Use MS Office programs and SAP for creating reports and product analysis. 

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Adhere to established safety procedures in Technical Work Center and New Castle Facility.
  • Ability to validate and repair equipment from multiple shops in the Technical Work Center.
  • Technical Work Center Cable Shop
    • Assembly, validation, repair, and testing on wire harness assemblies. 
    • Ability to assemble, validate, and repair equipment within the Cable Shop.
    • Operate test equipment to validate harness assemblies. 
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings required. 
    • Assemble and repair electrical and mechanical systems: wiring and connectors. 
  • Working in a Shop and Warehouse type of environment. 
  • Assist with operating and maintaining bench test equipment. 
  • Use precision measuring devices. (Digital multimeter, megger) 
  • Safe use and operation of power tools to include but not limited to drills, Battery operated cable cutters & crimpers, and pneumatic tools.
  • Safe use and operation of hand tools to include but not limited to wire crimpers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, wrenches, files, and socket sets. 
  • Cross train with other departments as workload demands. This can include work on HVAC, High Voltage, electromechanical, or electronics equipment. 
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently 
  • Proper use of PPE while performing daily tasks.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma Required

Vocational/Technical school graduate, military training, or minimum 2 years related technical experience preferred.

 

 

Experience: 

 Mandatory: .

  • Reading and interpreting schematics/blueprints.

Desireable: 

  • Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment
  • Understanding of electronic principles, circuit design, and testing procedures.
