Alstom Transportation, Inc. has an opening for a Systems Engineering Manager in Naperville, Illinois, and various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

 

Job Duties:  Develop the system engineering force (people, tools, processes) to support business growth of Services across North America; conduct bids and support project execution on system engineering; develop and coordinate a team of System Engineers and Electrical Designers, to address service business, especially Train & System overhauls; improve continuously tools and processes, in line with corporate guidelines; conduct all technical bids managed from Naperville, IL when it concerns Train & System overhauls, with the objective to meet/exceed customer expectations on quality, schedule and cost; on request, support other technical bids of Service NAM; support all projects on system engineering, and make sure with the Project Engineering Managers that system engineering scope is delivered according to QCD requirements; involved in production of engineering deliverables; coordinate with other Alstom units; and validate prototypes. This position will supervise 8 professional employees.

 

Requirements: Employer will accept Master’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; and two years of work experience in job offered or two years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following: Experience in design, manufacture, test, or overhaul of equipment for railroad rolling stock including High Speed trains or Light Rail Vehicles; Project execution with corporate rolling stock solutions, experience with corporate system solutions including Train Control and Monitoring Systems (TCMS), Propulsion, Automatic Power Supply, Automatic Train Control or Friction Brakes; Rolling stock project executions based on V-cycle methodology, from Train System and Software Requirements definition to Test and Execution of rolling stock equipment; Experience with regulatory standards for rolling stock equipment including EN50126, EN50128 or EN50129. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
