The Parts and Component Engineering Intern will gain first-hand experience working with our Aftermarket Customers to support them on engineering requests on a part, component or sub-system level to support all products maintained and designed by Alstom that operate in the North American market (automated people movers, light rail vehicles, commuters, metros, locomotives), as well as several of the infrastructure components (guideways, stations, depots, electrification and power distribution). We are 230 professionals located in 17 different sites across the continent.
As a Parts and Components Intern, you will
- Gain knowledge of rail, obsolescence management, supplier agreements & partnership , design, reverse engineering solutions to support Aftermarket Customer
- Procurement / Sales/ Customer Service Understanding
- Familiarity with IPC , Maintenance Manuels, etc. needed for tracking and input into Obsolescence Management tools
- Hands on Field Experience or Technical Experience
- Engineering Support for Solutions ( Supplier Partnership, Circular Economy , Make to Print, etc ) to meet FFF specifications and requirements. You will provide assembly/repair instructions, new designs drawings, develop all the required documentation, create or update engineering change orders, review vendor technical proposals to ensure compliance to specifications and product safety.
- Coordinate and lead efforts with vendors to confirm compliancy with customer requirements. You will interface with the end customer and vendors to ensure compliancy and validity of design
- You will work in multi-disciplinary teams with Customers, Rolling Stock Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Sales Team, Operations, Finance, Auditors, Platform (Tenders, Reference Library, REX), Quality, Validation and Testing.

- In this role, you are expected to build effective working relationships across a diverse engineering team, with the ultimate goal of delivering complex and innovative engineering solutions that meet our customer needs.
Terms :The term of the internship is 3-6 months, targeted for the Summer of 2025.
Minimum Qualifications : Currently enrolled in a 4-year program and have completed at least 2 years of a major in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering , Mechatronics, or related field.
