Alstom has an opening for a railway vehicle Systems Engineering Intern. The position is posted for our Naperville, IL site. In Alstom Services, our focus is to provide excellence in customer support and develop innovative mobility solutions.

 

What are my responsibilities?
The core function of Electrical Engineer is to review and develop circuitry, select components, and support Train Electrical Engineer to ensure the vehicle functionality is in line with the train architecture and
customer requirements. You also work with System Engineering, mechical design and validation to ensure compliance with engineering processes and regulatory standards.

 

This is an opportunity to contribute to and learn from a multi-functioned and experienced railway vehicle engineering team working on industry-leading solutions for our customers.

 

You will report to the Train Electrical Manager, working alongside Train Electrical, Train Control, and System Electrical engineers to support ongoing rail vehicle projects.
 

The Electrical Engineering Intern will gain first-hand experience working on rail vehicle design, circuit definition, performance evaluation, and technical writing.

 

You will have the opportunity to participate in the following objectives: Providing Warranty support for vehicles being delivered.

 

This will involve: technical analysis, failure investigations, issue resolution,
quantitative analysis of failures.

 

Direct contribution to the design and manufacturing of rail vehicle equipment.

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?
In this role, you are expected to build effective working relationships across a diverse engineering team, with the ultimate goal of delivering complex and innovative engineering solutions that meet our customer needs.

 

Terms
The term of the internship is 3-6 months, targeted for the Summer of 2025.

 

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a 4-year program and have completed at least 2 years of a major in Electrical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringTechnology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or related field.
