Purpose of the job:

  • Candidate will work in commodities management team - Always striving for a cost optimization initiative by following the global and local sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure project execution is in line with Q(Quality )C(cost) D(Delivery) T(Technical) objectives of the business.
  • Operational sourcing responsibility on negotiation, cross sites/businesses bundling to find synergy in purchasing schemes.

 

Key Accountabilities

Supplier relationship:

  • Manage specific supplier relationship (negotiation, specific agreement, local supplier QCDT performances)
  • Monitor day to day suppliers’ performances, handle warranties, claims and issues escalated by site buyers.
  • Respect Alstom code of ethics and guidelines.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly saving plans, continuous follow up with internal customers.
  • Support in building a cost reference library and enrich with the return of experience and by utilizing supplier quotes.
  • Enhance savings by challenging suppliers through Cost breakdown techniques, inviting supplier suggestions and encouraging suppliers to propose alternative equivalent or best manufacturing practices.

 

Commodity support on site:

  • Consolidation of commodity needs from relevant project teams, Collect inputs for local commodity strategy.
  • Active participation in commodity strategy and supplier panel elaboration though market intelligence and pricing trends in commodity market.
  • Support of Commodity Manager and bid sourcing manager in tender phase by helping in RFQs and key negotiations.
  • Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms and provide solutions to the project needs.
  • Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving.
  • Apply the Alstom Sourcing process, bid comparisons, prepare business awards.

 

Involvement in projects:

  • Coordinate projects with all stake holders by conducting monthly meetings.
  • Preparation and launch of Request for Quotation with suppliers using the standard tool (ALTES), make bid comparisons and analysis for and support on time purchase order to suppliers.
  • Lead project key negotiation and find synergies across the different sites for cost savings
  • Monitor sourcing project QCDT & project evolution (FAI, Product development and first successful deliveries)
  • Ensure work package sheet commitment respect.
  • Lead Saving Plan by leveraging Design to Cost, BCC ( Best cost countries) sourcing.
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Cashflow improvement , supplier payments terms and claim management.

 

Mandatory:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related degree; or equivalent experience
  • Fluent English & exposure to International procurement
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in industry

Strong market knowledge (Rail industry background preferred but not mandatory)
