JOB TITLE: Industrial & Project Controller .

Based in Nagpur (India)

 

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY :

The Industrial & Project Controller position, reporting to Site Finance Controller & FPM – Eloco Services, will have the responsibility to ensure seamless flow of financial data from production accounting system to Financial books as an Industrial controller as well as business partnering with Project manager and lead project governance process as a Project controller.

 

You will leads finance for project to improve project overall performance. Day-to-day you will work closely with Project Manager and team across the functions at site as a key member at the site to provide financial analytics, advise and guidance to support project team in making best business decisions for the project and much more.

The primary objectives will be the following :

 

Operations;

  • Ensure proper cost controlling and review mechanism (Control costs commitments with key stake holders viz Services Maintenance, Planning, SCM & Indus teams).
  • Operational Control and reporting of site related KPIs viz. headcount, workload, production overhead, absorption costing, etc.
  • Review and challenge operations on improving the workload efficiency and cost reduction targets set.
  • Ensure proper accounting and closure of services maintenance orders, repair order, depreciation allocation, general services allocation etc.
  • Focus on improving / implementing Alstom production accounting system effectively including consumption accounting, Work order closure in SAP.
  • Identifies new areas of improvement at site to reduce operation cost.
  • Establishes controls on rate variances and quantity variances at LCC level, to keep tracking and monitoring of project level approved EAC

Strengthen the controls on Inventory (Material master controls, Obso reserve, stock count, Physical verification).

  • Review capex proposal as per Alstom guidelines and help business evaluate the business case keeping in mind overall competitiveness of the business.

 

Project Controlling:

  • Participate in overall Project Management processes jointly with Project Manager
  • Reports monthly financial performance of the project and propose action plan to improve contract margin and cash profile as well as corrective action plan to mitigate identified risks
  • Prepare on Monthly business reviews / project reviews and lead half yearly Financial Project Reviews (FPRs)
  • Work closely with CFT in terms of monthly Work package review governance, alignment on Budget and circulating MOM on monthly reviews
  • Liase with fleet / planning / operations on key contractual KPIs such as availability / reliability / loco utilization and drive the mitigation actions to reduce the penalties risk
  • Customer liasoning which includes Submissions of periodical IPCs to customer, alignment of submissions at various stages at customer offices and secure cash in line with your own commitment to Mgt
  • Drive Working Capital improvements (Inventory optimization, lead time reductions/takt).

 

Continuous Improvement :

  • Drive finance related continuous Improvement actions at level.
  • Work closely with every business function as well as finance hierarchy and understand the portfolio better way.

 

Compliance:

  • Lead the Group and Statutory audit process relating to the Unit.
  • Ensure Internal Controls are properly implemented in areas of finance, Inventory management, cycle count, production etc
  • To ensure adherence to Alstom DOA, POA and other approval controls.

You are expected to play an active role in proposal and implementation of financial strategy for the project. Support Project Manager in Risk and opportunities process and sign off contingencies or committed savings. All operations and controlling Finance business partnership activities will be managed by you. As a consequence, you will have recurrent interfaces not only with various functions within site but also with India corporate finance teams viz. shared services, engineering & other manufacturing sites, tax teams, etc.

PROFILE : 

    • You have an Academic background in Finance CA or CMA with 5 to 8 years of experience in controlling activities in an industrial company – Preferably in a manufacturing or project based set-up
  • Proficiency in MS office, SAP - especially in FI and MM module
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Pro-active, flexible, able to push for innovative ideas
