Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and supplier management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring project execution aligns with Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Technical (QCDT) objectives while contributing to the development and deployment of commodity strategies. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (including Project Management, Commodity Managers, and Engineering), manage supplier relationships, and support tender phases and sourcing processes.

You’ll specifically take care of managing supplier performance and negotiations, but also support commodity strategy development and contribute to project success.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Supporting global supplier panel relationships and managing specific supplier relationships (negotiations, agreements, and performance monitoring).

  • Handling day-to-day supplier performance and addressing initial issues before escalation.

  • Consolidating commodity needs and actively participating in strategy and panel development.

  • Providing inputs to differentiate and support Commodity Managers during tender phases.

  • Coordinating project sourcing activities, including request for quotation preparation, project negotiations, and monitoring QCDT performance.

  • Participating in project management committees and managing change requests to optimize costs and ensure alignment with project objectives.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in the industry.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and communication abilities.

  • Willingness to travel (approximately 30%).

  • Experience or understanding of supplier negotiations, performance management, and sourcing processes.

  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and commodity management.

  • Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving in a project environment.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects.

  • Utilise our inclusive, technology-driven, and collaborative working environment.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.

  • Progress towards roles such as Commodity Manager or Project Sourcing Manager.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
