Your role, your impact

 

As the Lead Telecom System Engineer in Milton, Brisbane, supporting a major rail project- you will be:

 

  • Responsible, in coordination with the Interface Manager Network & Telecoms/Digital Rail Systems, to lead the technical discussions with the DRS contractor with regards to their design, compliance, design planning and delivery.
  • Review and monitor the design from the DRS for compliance with the PSTR.
  • Review and monitor planning of delivery of the DRS design to align with Alstom needs
  • Participate as required with the Interface N&T/DRS to the relevant Working Groups set by the SI.
  • Lead technical discussions with the sub contractors for the resolution of any technical issues.
  • Act as the N&T/DRS SME in internal and external discussions with DRS / TMR.

 

You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across Altom — solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility.

 

What you bring

  • A university degree in Telecom/Network/ IT, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in radio communications and network environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fibre network / 5G radio network is essential.
  • Exposure to FRMCS is advantageous.
  • Understanding of rail industry environments and engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting complex engineering projects. 
  • Familiar with progress dashboards/maintaining action items lists.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • High attention to detail, strong time management, and a professional approach.
  • Commitment to EH&S performance and quality delivery.
