PURPOSE OF THE JOB

You are in charge of the management of national logistics, focus on the delivery of goods from our warehouse to installation site. Ensure that the components and materials arrive on time with no damages to the installation sites. In charge of all the logistic flows/teams: warehouse, logistic and transport teams for your site, optimizing the processes in compliance with QCDE targets (Quality, cost, delay and EHS).

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and put in pace solutions to improve logistic flows meeting QCDE targets:
    • Quality: apply solutions to protect parts during all logistic operations (transport, unloading, storage, line feeding, …)
    • Costs: save money & cash (calculate ROI Return On Investment, design standard packaging, reduce transport costs, …)
    • Delay: reduce work labor time in the warehouse (picking, kitting hours, …) & in production
    • EHS: improve ergonomics at workstation (internal kitting trolley), and reduce waste packaging (zero unpacking
  • Put in place action to align physicial flow and system flow and to improve the stock accuracy
  • Ensure that the supplier follows the supply chain specification
  • Plan & Manage Packing, Shipping and Outbound Transportation form your site to external supplier and customers
  • Plan & Manage Inbound Transportation form external supplier when requested by purchasing incoterms
  • Work in synergy with Alstom Custom Expert and custom operators in order to ensure custom compliance of import and export activities
  • Check and assure the compliance with all the authority regulations (for example, carta porte)
  • Assure the equipment are delivered on time based with the project planning
  • Provide visibility on delivery dates to the site material planners
  • Monitor Logistic supplier commitment, deliveries and follow logistic suppliers OTIF performance and other KPIs
  • Manage transportation budget in synergies with projects work package owners.
  • Ensure implementation of all standard processes & golden rules in compliance with Logistic Handbook

 

 

Operational activities

  • Design packaging solutions (define flow, calculate batch size, optimize packaging & transport costs, analyze milk-run, calculate ROI and logistic loop)
  • Define warehouse layouts, its internal flows and storage policy (define C-class storage management, realize business case on VMI, create & implement mirror area, put in place visual management, Kanban flow, FIFO, FEFO, lean management,….)
  • Optimize the line feeding (design standard kitting trolley, warehouse & production line footprint and sequencing,..)
  • Participate to the different gates review of RFQ (Request For Quotation) by negotiating terms of supply chain specification and requesting forwarder’s quotes.
  • Work closely with suppliers, industrialization, material planning, warehouse, sourcing, manufacturing teams

 

Management

  • Manage logistics/Transport Operators in the team and align team members activities to the warehouse workload
  • Provide a long-term vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets, support and coach in achieving these targets and objectives.
  • Identified on time possible impacts in the deliveries of the components and propose a strategy to mitigate these impacts.
  • Ensure optimization of transportation flow & cost
  • Manage C-Class activity according to Alstom standard rules
  • Manage Budget for his department

 

 

 

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements 

Mandatory:

  • College degree in logistic, industrial engineering or similar
  • English fluent
  • Spanish (mother tongue or bilingual)

 

Desirable:

  • Lean Six Sigma Knowledge

 

 

Experience 

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 5 years in similar position
  • Experience and use of ERP SAP
  • Experience in team management
  • Knowledge of new requirement “Carta Porte”
  • Excellent understanding of incoterms

 

Desirable:

  • Valuable experience in companies of same sector/activity or related.
