Role Summary / Purpose

Alstom has an opening for a System Administrator in its Melbourne, FL location.

 

This position is for a highly motivated, capable, and energetic System Administrator with demonstrated capabilities setting up client/server systems, cloud based tools, configuring, installing and maintaining Linux and Windows systems and accounts on physical and virtual machines.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing full IT Support to the product development team.
  • Managing network security.
  • Coordinating activities with enterprise IT managers.
  • Setting up, administering, and maintaining user accounts, software lifecycle tools (git, JIRA, Confluence, RTC).
  • Setting up and administering build environments (e.g. Jenkins servers and clients) and migrating from one build environment to another (i.e. migration from Hudson to Jenkins).
  • Developing scripts and automation tools to deploy software.
  • Setting up, deploying, administering Windows and Linux based physical and virtual machines, and user accounts.
  • Trouble shooting and solving network connectivity issues.
  • Managing network port and flows with closed and external networks.
  • Planning and evolving computing resource and network needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and administering physical and virtual machines, server, and client systems.
  • Experience in IT operations and/or systems integration
  • Extensive systems administration experience with Linux, Windows Server, and .NET
  • Experience implementing shell, scripting, and batch file languages
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement network topology.
  • Experience managing relationships between different teams
  • Familiarity with cyber security concepts and processes for build systems

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience installing and maintaining data science tools (Hadoop, Influx, etc.)
  • Experience with IBM RTC highly desirable.
  • Rail domain product development experience (Wayside, Carborne, Office Systems)
  • CMMI knowledge and audit participation
