Your future role:
 
Alstom is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our inhouse Legal, Australia & New Zealand team based in the Melbourne, CBD office. Reporting to the ANZ Legal Director, ANZ will be accountable for leading front-end activities and providing expertise for bids, tenders and supporting with legal issues arising with customers, partners, and subcontractors across Alstom’s portfolio of major transport and infrastructure projects. 

 

We'll look to you for:

 

  • Preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other legal documents with an acceptable level of risks.    
  • Acting as the lead Legal Advisor for a diverse range of major infrastructure projects.
  • Providing expert legal advice to a broad range of stakeholders on all matters of construction and contract law.
  • Supporting the business in the review and submission of contracts and tender documentation.
  • Assisting the legal function with general legal counsel matters and corporate governance.

 
All about you:

 

  • Completed a Bachelor of Laws, along with a current Australian legal practicing certificate.
  • Sound understanding of public tenders and Public Private Partnership (PPP) agreements is desired.
  • Experienced Senior Legal Professional who enjoys providing legal expertise in the tender/bid phase of complex major projects. 
  • Strong commercial acumen coupled with great interpersonal skills, communication and excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience as a Lawyer, either in-house or private practice within the infrastructure, engineering or construction sector.
