Join Alstom as our Senior Legal Counsel – Procurement, where you’ll play a critical role supporting a global organisation at the forefront of sustainable mobility.

 

In this senior role, you’ll partner closely with the business, the procurement community and the VP Legal Procurement, providing strategic legal advice on supplier and subcontractor matters while helping to shape ethical, compliant and commercially sound outcomes across the organisation.

 

 

Your future role

 

You will be a trusted advisor to the business, supporting procurement activities across the full contract lifecycle. You will work on high‑value, complex matters in a dynamic international environment, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.:

 

 

What you'll do

 

  • Advise on legal and contractual matters across procurement activities, products and services
  • Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial and international contracts
  • Manage claims, disputes and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Partner closely with procurement and business leaders to support strategic initiatives
  • Lead selected negotiations and manage external legal advisors
  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and deliver legal training to the procurement community

  • Law degree from Australia or another common law jurisdiction
  • 7–10 years’ post‑qualification experience in-house or in a leading law firm
  • Strong expertise in contract and commercial law, including international contracts
  • Experience supporting procurement activities (highly regarded)
  • Confident communicator with a practical, business‑focused mindset
  • Experience in rail, infrastructure or major projects is an advantage
