About the Role

 

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and execute high-criticality projects within the rail industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring contractual compliance, delivering projects on time, and maximizing financial performance while meeting customer expectations. You will be accountable for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Planning (QCDP) and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), safeguarding legal and contractual rights, and identifying new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Drive project execution in line with contractual requirements and Alstom processes.

  • Own and optimize project financial performance (margin & cash).

  • Define project strategy and governance, including PMP development and objectives allocation.

  • Lead and coordinate all project activities from tender transfer to close-out.

  • Manage resources, build and lead multi-functional teams, and ensure stakeholder alignment.

  • Oversee risk management, change control, and variation orders.

  • Maintain compliance with ethics, safety, and quality standards.

  • Act as the primary representative of the project to senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Foster strong customer relationships and manage claims or litigations when necessary.

 

What We’re Looking For

 

Education:

  • Master’s degree (IPMA Level A certificate desirable)

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years as a Project Manager in the rail industry, including 5 years on medium-critical projects.

  • Proven experience in multinational environments and diverse business cultures.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and project management expertise.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage complex, multi-site teams and customer relationships.

  • Advanced knowledge of railway products, systems, and construction management.

  • Conflict resolution and crisis management capabilities.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.
