Your Future Role
We are seeking skilled Mobile Maintenance Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, performing warranty repairs, and overhauling rolling stock and infrastructure equipment.
You will work as part of a collaborative maintenance team to ensure all equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while driving continuous improvement.
Join our team at the brand-new Maidstone Tram Maintenance Depot, a flagship facility supporting Melbourne’s Network of Next Generation Trams (NGT).
This state-of-the-art depot is central to Alstom’s 15-year maintenance contract and houses the G Class (Flexity 2-based) trams right here in Maidstone.
The NGT project represents a major step forward in sustainable urban transport, delivering modern, accessible, and energy-efficient trams to Melbourne’s network.
What You’ll Do
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on rolling stock and infrastructure equipment.
- Follow quality systems and adhere to applicable standards.
- Interpret and apply work instructions, technical diagrams, and standard operating sheets.
- Support fault-finding and troubleshooting activities.
- Accurately report work status and complete documentation in IT systems (MMIS/SES).
- Contribute to productivity improvements and maintain 5S housekeeping standards.
- Comply with all EHS regulations and safety practices.
- Be flexible to undertake training in additional skills and support call-outs or breakdowns as required.

- Experience in train maintenance and working to technical procedures.
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and perform fault-finding.
- Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical [MEM30219] – including superseded units OR
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) [MEA40718] – including superseded units OR
- Certificate IV in Engineering [MEM40119] Mechanical stream
