About the role:
We have a unique opportunity for an Industry Development and Innovation Leader to join our Team. In this role you will develop and implement Alstom’s Industry Development, Innovation and Local Content activities in Victoria. This will involve increasing local participation, local export, innovation, social procurement and local workforce development, in collaboration with government and industry partners. You will also need to provide technical support in assessing Research & Development (R&D) needs for our projects as well as gap and opportunity analysis for the wider industry.
We’ll look to you for:
- In collaboration with procurement, HR, project teams and others, manage the implementation of the Local First Strategy to achieve objectives for each of the key focus areas.
- Create and deliver Innovation and R&D initiatives and processes for further development of the rolling stock industry.
- Strategic oversight and day-to-day management of the Mobility Supply Chain Centre of Excellence (MSCCE):
- Oversee activities within the R&D Institute and E3H to ensure all targets, commitments and initiatives are realised in accordance with the relevant plans and programs.
- Oversee the implementation of supply chain development, workforce development, employment and social procurement partnerships and programs.
- Manage reporting obligations
- Work with the Industry Development and Stakeholder Engagement Director to expand the activities of the MSCCE at ANZ level.
- Create and maintain processes that foster a culture of innovation at all levels of the organisation and our supply chain and develop processes for tracking, and measuring the effectiveness of innovation initiatives.
- Provide the main liaison to the APAC Innovation Station to identify opportunities to promote local business capabilities internationally and ensure local project teams are informed of innovation outcomes from the APAC Innovation Station that could be applied to ANZ projects.
All about you:
- Hold relevant tertiary engineering qualifications (Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or similar)
- Strong technical competence in relevant transport products and systems
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and management abilities
- Exhibit strong commercial, negotiation, and financial skills, with a capability to mitigate risks
- Have a track record of successful project management
- Preferably have prior experience in a similar role within the rail, infrastructure, or transport industry
- Display outstanding communication and presentation skills.
