MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • Closure of open points or escalation as per company target : 85% on time
  • Compliance to Engineering WorkPackage  (variation orders excluded): 100%
  • Quality of his delivery (included sub-contractor delivery):  1st time quality rate > 90% (quality rate = modification validated OK / number of applied modification)
  • Respect of the delivery planning (included sub-contractor delivery) = 100% OTD
  • Application level of standard PPL = 100%
  • Configuration management of his deliverables = 100% of deliverables properly managed into configuration database
  • Respect of Cost allocation

Mission / Responsibilities:

  • Reporting on Mechanical Domain activities progress, anticipating issues (capacity, skills, rule applicability, etc.) and alerting if needed.
  • Planning and piloting Mechanical Domain activities and related deliverables on project considering applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
  • Designing in 3D model, mechanical changes, proposals, simulations and prototypes.
  • Designing products considering project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).
  • Ensuring Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
  • Reporting on Mechanical Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
  • Defining requirements and mechanical interfaces to equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.).
  • Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Mechanical Domain scope.
  • Checking availability on time of work package input data and escalate if necessary.
  • Checking supplier's and sub-contractor's Design Quality
  • Preparing and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and following-up the main open actions.
  • Resolving Project Mechanical issues and following challenging actions.
  • Analysing and consolidating change request impacts on Mechanical Domain scope.
  • Pilot the Train Design dashboard, KPI’s, Open Item List and morning meetings
  • Planning and piloting Mechanical Domain activities and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
  • Applying Train Design rules, processes and tools and ensuring Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
  • Checking respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
  • Respecting and/or allocating requirements and mechanical interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipments  (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.)
  • Coordinating Mechanical Domain contributors on Project.
  • Analysing and consolidating change request impacts on Mechanical Domain scope
  • Validating relevant Mechanical Domain deliverables and securing planning.
  • Verifying design via mock-ups or simulations.

Contributor for :

  • Proposing Design Optimizations (simple design, cost, weight, labor time, etc.)
  • Supporting Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up
  • Collaborating with Mechanical Domain Leader for continuous improvement of the Metier (including RoE)
  • Defining Mechanical Project/Product Preferred Part List (3PL) delivery.
  • Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
  • Pilot First Mounting Reviews managing Open Item List

 

 

 

 

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES 

Educational Requirements & Experience

Mandatory:

  • Mechanical Engineering preferably applied to Railway products with 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Catia v5 : Solid, Surface, Sheet Metal Work (SMW)

 

Desirable:

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - ASME Code Evaluations

Digital Mock-up : DMA 2.2 or DMA 2.3 or equivalent (Smarteam, 3DCOM, etc.)

 

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Good Communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (customer).
  • Time management and reporting skill.
  • Sense of urgency / priority.

  • Structured and organised with Hands-on approach.
