Your future role
Take on a key role in delivering high-quality electronic testing at Alstom. You’ll work closely with the Manufacturing Team to ensure you test not only the products, but the sub level PCBs with the ability to use the test gear that comes with it such as oscilloscopes, frequency generators, meters, computers and programmers. You will also be expected to be able to read circuit diagrams and hopefully fault find PCBs down to component level. Your efforts will help drive continuous improvement and maintain excellent right-first-time performance across the production schedule.
We’ll look to you for:
- Assemble and test electronic equipment accurately and on time, following build specifications and quality standards
- Complete tasks within standard build times, while maintaining precision and high-quality workmanship
- Support and collaborate positively with your team members, fostering a productive and safe working environment
- Adhere strictly to UK Health and Safety regulations and ALSTOM’s safe working practices
- Comply with ALSTOM Electronics’ quality standards, factory rules, and HR policies

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support ongoing process development
- Meet deadlines and performance targets set by the Assembly Team Leader
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the assembly team and Manufacturing functions
- Promptly report any Health and Safety concerns or near misses to the Assembly Team Leader
- High-quality, efficient and safe assembly and engineering work.
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Consistent focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

- Proven track record working to high-quality standards and Health & Safety regulations
- A self-motivated, logical thinker who approaches work with discipline and innovation
