Carry out RAM related activities in Projects & Programs in line with Quality objectives and looking for optimization of RAM performance while being mindful of other constraints such as life cycle cost, safety, standards, etc.. This hiring is in the context of the V. I. E. "Volontariat International en Entreprise" by Business France. The pertinent conditions apply, e.g. is 18 to 28 years old, is EU citizen and has never worked in Germany before.


Organisation structure: Central Signaling RAM Reliability, Availability, Maintainability structure.
Reports directly to: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, abbreviated DACH, RAM department head.
Other reporting to: on demand, dotted report line to Project Engineering Manager or system Engineering Manager.

Key accountabilities:
    Within each Project or Program, the RAM Engineer oversees carrying out the RAM activities; such as : RAM Plan, RAM report, product or system-level RAM prediction, RAM Monitoring plan and reports, RAM demonstration test plan and reports, and other deliverables described in the RAM Instruction. 
    Apply the RAM Process and Methods Work Method Statements and Guidelines.
    Make Design recommendations based on RAM studies applying the ‘Design for Reliability’ and ‘ Design for Maintainability’ guidelines, and verify adequacy of architecture choices to System or Product RAM targets. 
    Specify and oversee reliability tests when required.
    During the operation and maintenance phase, the RAM Engineer validates field failure data collected by the Warranty team and supplies them to the RAM Return of Experience Leader of the Centre of Excellence.; issues the standardised 2-page RAM report.; supplies necessary inputs to RAM Key Performance Indicators KPI
    In close coordination with the Quality function, he/she takes part in the reliability growth management process.

Educational requirement: 
o    Advanced studies or bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering; 
o    Coursework or certificate in RAM Engineering is desirable.


Desired, but not required knowledge and experience: 
o    RAM Engineering experience like RBD, FTA, FMEA, RAM predictions, Markov, IEC62380;
o    Experience in rail signalling preferred;
o    Proficiency in Microsoft Office software;
o    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
