Train and Sub-System Safety Engineer (m/f/d)

We are currently looking to recruit a Train Safety Engineer for our RAMS team.

In this role you are responsible to manage the railway safety activities and related deliverables on the TRAXX locomotive project(s)/program(s) you are appointed to. You have the technical responsibility to define the safety requirements allowing to reach an acceptable level of risks as per the Alstom Transport Safety policy.



•    Performing the safety process and activities (Safety Plan, PHA, Hazard Log, FMECA, FTA, Safety Case)
•    Risk analysis and definition of the necessary safety requirements in order to bring under control the relevant railway safety risks
•    Supporting the other stakeholders (design, industrial, sourcing, validation etc..) in the definition of appropriate measures to meet the safety targets and to follow their closure through appropriate documented evidence
•    Being the point of contact for Safety matters on the project/program for the corresponding scope (Train / Subsystem) in particular to the Customer (internal or external).
•    Consolidating the safety contribution from the subsystems and external suppliers
•    Supporting the performance of safety design reviews and the issuance of safety authorizations by providing the necessary inputs
•    Issue the vehicle safety case and present it to external assessors
•    Coordinate the safety resources and contributors  

Knowledge and Qualifications

•    Degree in Engineering (electronic, electric, automation or similar)
•    2 to 3 years of experience with railway safety analysis and demonstration methods (FME(C)A, FTA …) and tools 
•    Knowledge and experience with the application of relevant standards, laws and regulation: EN 50126, EN50657, CSM for Risk Assessment,

TSI or experience in the application of safety standards from other industries, e.g. automotive, aerospace etc.

•    Structured and organised with hands-on approach
•    Time management and reporting skills
•    Fluent in English and German
