Your Future Role:
In Mannheim, over 1000 colleagues from 36 different countries work together to develop locomotives, as well as signal and propulsion technology for vehicles that are deployed both regionally and worldwide. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Dirk Bertsch and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:
- The Sub-System Manager Power Train is responsible for management and successful completion of cross-functional activities leading to the delivery of a project sub-system, fulfilling both customer needs and committed QCDP objectives.
- Manage cross-functionally sub-system level stakeholders, activities and deliverables and make needed arbitration (engineering, product x process, Costs, Milestones, Interfaces, …) to reach QCDP commitment
- Coordinate activities for the following systems in Power Train with other project stakeholders including integration teams other sub-systems and project level functions:
- Contribute to successful Project execution on allocated sub-system scope of work
- Lead and coordinate sub-system activities and stakeholders, from requirement capture/analysis to the end of project contractual obligations limited to the sub-system scope of work:
- Coordinate and synchronize sub-system activities with other sub-Systems and project teams
All About You:

- Relevant academic background, Master of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic, Railway System)
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position with relevant experience in in rolling stock development
- Familiar with system Engineering, Concept Design and Architecture, Requirement Management, Functional Analysis, testing and commissioning
- Good understanding of HW and SW interactions within complex system architectures
- Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations for rolling stock
- Open-minded, (self-) entrepreneurial, problem setting and problem solving, sense of urgency
- Leadership, team motivator
- Good Presentation and Writing skills required: clarity, rigor, and concision
- Fluent in English and German and confortable to work as part of a multi-national and distributed engineering team
