Your Future Role
In Mannheim, over 1000 colleagues from 36 different countries work together to develop locomotives, as well as signal and propulsion technology for vehicles that are deployed both regionally and worldwide. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Michael Schwager and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
As a Requirements Management Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that all tender and project requirements are managed in accordance with global RM processes and methodologies. You support project teams in applying the RM process, provide training on the DOORS tool, and ensure traceability and quality of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
We'll look for you to:
- Maintain and ensure the integrity of the DOORS requirements database
- Support project teams in using DOORS and applying RM processes and methodologies
- Define and maintain RM strategies and plans for tenders and projects
- Support configuration and change management processes
- Ensure traceability of requirements across all levels
- Review and improve the quality of requirements using standards such as IEEE 29148 and ASD-STE100
- Prepare requirement exports and documentation for customer delivery
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (engineering, quality, customers, suppliers)

- University degree in engineering
- Preferred specialization in rail systems or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
- Experience across various project lifecycle stages
- Strong communication skills in English
- Preferred 2 years of experience in rail systems requirements
- Experience with large-scale rail projects and working in cross-site, multicultural teams
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proficient in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
- Conceptual knowledge of systems engineering and integration
- Strong technical writing and requirement elicitation skills
