Purpose of the Job


As an FBL Engineer you will work within the team “Engineering Configuration, Baselining and Change Management” that applies the principles of configuration and change management to maintain the integrity of the engineering work products with focus on functional features.


In this role you will define the key elements to put under configuration control in terms of input, development and design, defining the complete product (Engineering end-to-end). You will need to establish and maintain the configuration reference and its integrity. Another task involves controlling the evolutions to the established reference and establishing the plan, to introduce them into the development in a consistent manner, which is an iterative cycle with the Configuration Management activity to set the new Configuration Reference.


The FBL Engineer works in a team of Operability, Safety, RAM-LCC, Mechanical and Electrical Architecture to ensure the product Configuration consistency at each level of development phases for Engineering.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Manage the deployment of the Product Family FBL Roadmap - the As Required and As Specified Configuration Baselines
  • Manage the deployment of the Product Family Target Configuration Reference (TCR) – the As Designed Configuration Baselines, ensuring the correct derivation from the FBL Strategy
  • Follow-up on Functional Change Requests (CR-F) and Engineering CR and the linked Change Orders until complete closure
  • Prepare, establish and maintain the Release Notes for the As-Required, As-Specified and As-Designed Configuration Management Baseline
  • Create, release and maintain the TCR ensuring the completeness of the Traceable Items List
  • Establish and maintain Vehicle Software Release Documentation


Key requirements/Qualifications:


  • BA Degree in Engineering or MA/PhD or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3+ years engineering experience in the specific technical domain
  • good understanding of engineering processes and tools
  • Experience on configuration and change management
  • Analytical skills to understand interfaces and impacts with other technical domains
  • Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role
  • Technical domain experience essential, Systems Integration experience required, System Architectural understanding required
  • Fluent in German and English incl. good communication skills
  • Use of up to date IT tools such as Excel, Word & Lotus-Notes, DOORS, SAP
  • Basic skills on planning software – such as MS Project / Primavera
