The Rolling Stock & Components (RSC) division develops electrical and electronic equipment for rail vehicles. Traction Engineering in Mannheim is responsible for the development of various power converters and power converter modules. Traction applications include Automated People Movers, trams and streetcars as well as light metros covert.

 

If you’re ambitious, driven and team-spirited, this is your opportunity to build a career as a Converter Development Engineer to develop and test power converters / power converter modules for drive systems and auxiliaries based  in Mannheim, Germany

 

Your main tasks will include the following fields of activity:

  • Specification of components and subassemblies of the converter / converter module
  • Validation and verification investigations of components, power converters / power converter modules in the laboratory in a near-application environment
  • Development and testing of power converters and power converter modules up to commissioning support on the vehicles.
  • Cooperation in interdisciplinary project teams for the planning and execution of the development activity up to the presentation of the development results and the conclusion of the development project.
  • Collaboration in international coordination teams for components and product families

 

Requirements and skills:

  • Master's degree Electrical Engineering or a equivalent degree in general electrical engineering with specialization in power electronics.
  • Several years of experience in the development of converter modules or power converter unit
  • Experience in the verification and validation, investigation and definition of components and sub-systems.
  • Results-oriented, efficient and on-schedule work with the aim of developing robust, innovative and cost-efficient products.
  • Strong analytical thinking, independent work, very good communication skills.
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
