Development Project Controller (m/f/d)


We are currently looking to recruit a Development Project Controller for our Finance team located in Mannheim, Germany.


Purpose of the job 


The Development Project Controller is Business Partner to Financial Project Manager, Program Manager, Cost to Design Manager, Project Planner and Platform Manager.


  • Oversees all aspects of financial planning, analysis and reporting for the project team of a development project 
  • Works in teams spread over several sites
  • Provides all necessary information for Work Package Reviews and Monthly Project Reviews
  • Supports and drives all strategic initiatives for project improvements
  • Drives Industrial performance and Cost Productivity
  • Implements early warning with respect to cost time quality
  • Strong focus on project finance situation
  • Support Program Manager and Chief of Development on all activities having financial impact


Key accountabilities


  • Coordinates planning & monthly reporting activities for development project team
  • Prepares all relevant financial analysis
  • Drives and implements all cash improvement actions with work package owner and work package controller
  • Aligns financing of Development projects with Financial Project Manager and Platform Manager
  • Strong focus on agreed financing of development projects
  • Controls project budgets and ensures project financial targets




  • Education: Degree in Finance or Business Administration
  • 3+ years minimum experience in Controlling or other related Finance roles
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to consolidate conclusions and recommendations
  • Good knowledge of Finance and Engineering processes
  • Good communicator, both at working level but also with Business Partners at Executive level
  • Demonstrate transparency and reliability
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and result-orientation
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, SAP R3 and SAP BW or any other ERP and BI System
  • Language skills: English & German
