We are looking for a Design Engineer (f/d/m) for our Mannheim location.

The activities of the position relate to the design drawings and wiring diagrams of mechanical, electromechanical, electrical and electronic components within the framework of a signalling project in the field of train protection. The purpose of the contract is to create design drawings for the manufacture of assemblies and electronic cabinets.

Your main tasks include:

•    Developing concepts and solutions for integrating train protection systems
•    Investigation of installation options for new and existing vehicles
•    Mechanical Design – 3D Models and Design Drawings
•    Creation of circuit diagrams and cable harnesses
•    Accompaniment of the manufacturing process through to completion
•    Participating in the change process during series production

    REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS:

•    Degree from a university in a technical field (e.g. electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics) or a completed apprenticeship as a technical drafter with years of experience and an interest in further vocational training
•    Experience with 3D designs in Catia V5 and in creating circuit diagrams in E3.series
•    Good knowledge of MS Office including Visio
•    Ability to work in a team, especially in cooperation with other departments and cultures
•    Independent work
•    Fluent written and spoken German and English
