                                                      Automatic Train Control Application Design Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Mannheim, Germany

 

We are currently looking to recruit an ATC Application Design Engineer for our team located in Mannheim, Germany.

 

As an Automatic Train Control Application Design Engineer, you are going to evaluate and analyse and evaluate the customer specifications and the national requirements. As part of the Application Design Engineering Team, you are going to work closely with the customer projects of Region DACH and the Systems Engineering team of the product development.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyse and evaluate project specific requirements (customer and country specific).
  • Support the customer projects in the planning and execution phase and with the management of the applicable requirements.
  • Manage requirements and the real needs of stakeholders (internal/external customers, authorities, internal HW/SW designer, Testers, validators, the technical project core team) and ensure a successful implementation of the Alstom Requirements Management Process in the project environment.
  • Elicit, analyse, validate, specify, verify and manage the requirements with a focus on customer projects.
  • Defining system requirements, system context and interfaces.
  • Configuration of product configuration according to the applicable requirements of the customer project
  • Identifying customer needs through close collaboration with the internal/external customers
  • Support for implementers, integrators, testers, validators (explain requirements, assess non-conformities) and homologation.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Typically, 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role will be appreciated.
  • Relevant experience with requirements and systems engineering in a multinational environment will be preferred.
  • Good technical background in Electrics/Electronics /Mechatronics and able to read electrical schematics
  • Good understanding of HW and SW interactions within complex system architectures.
  • Experience of ERTMS or other safety-critical systems will be highly valued.
  • Experience in requirement management tools like DOORS is highly desired.
  • Experience with field testing will be highly appreciated.
  • Availability for national and international traveling.
  • Well-organized, structured way of working, sociable and with a problem-solving mindset.
  • English at a fluent level and German at a fluent level are mandatory for this role.
