Could you be the full-time Railway System Engineer in Madrid we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your Railway System Engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside outstanding teammates.

 

You'll specify the standard architectures of one or several System Architecture Areas (SAA) and define the Metier referentials and ensure a technical expertise for the projects (deployment, tailoring standard solutions, solving technical problems…). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business Design, Engineering, Project Management, Quality and much more.

 

You’ll specifically take care of performing subsystem/component development activities and contributing to the purchasing of subsystems/components developed by suppliers ensuring its delivery according to the quality, cost, delivery and performance (QCDP) commitment in the project.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

Technical missions
Responsible for:

  • Performing technical requirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer, then the developed requirements allocation to the various subsystems
  • Performing the transverse requirement development and allocation to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialists,
  • Defining the Train System architecture, operational modes and functionalities
  • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications,
  • Writing sub-system specification (RSL2, TPS) and, if needed sub-system architecture description (ADL2) according to train level system architecture.
  •  Fill the “Entry “connector” to question the catalog of standard products.
  • For non-catalog products, under Module authority:
    • Writing the Tender Technical Purchasing Specification in bid phase.
    • Writing the TPS1 for supplier consultation and manages technical contact (TPS2) until design has been frozen
    • Driving technical relationships with suppliers with close management of QCD commitments (CbC), risks & validation (including Design Reviews with suppliers).
  • Supporting TPM to define applicable train configuration
  • Ensuring coordination between TxE/PU/Metiers on interfaces, performances, technical issues resolution during detailed design phase.
  • On TPM request, participating to technical meetings with customer in order to provide support.

 

V&V activities
Responsible for:

  • Defining and performing Train verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering metiers, Certification & Validation teams and Participating Units.
  • Verify the System requirements definition and System Architecture design with all necessary verification means, including modelling and simulation means
  • Writing the train level test specifications
  • Ensuring the train integration and tuning.

 

During train revenue service
Responsible for:

  • Technical open issues resolution on TPM/TSE request, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,

 

QCD and reporting
Responsible for

  • Performing reporting at project level (to TPM/TSE, via KPI) and metier level (via weekly reports)
  • Supporting TPM/TSE for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process and QCD optimisation
  • Providing Return of Experience (RoE) to be implemented in standard solutions to improve their related Q, C &TD

  • Academic Background: Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Experience: at least 2 years working on Railway System Architecture Process.

 

Desired Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of rail vehicles & sub-systems
  • Knowledge in CENELEC standards: EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 50657.
  • Knowledge Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment according to Regulation (EU) Nº 402/2013 and (EU) Nº 2015/1136
  • Knowledge in Technical Specification for Interoperability relating to the ‘rolling stock — locomotives and passenger rolling stock’ and ‘control-command and signalling’ and National Regulations – Instrucciones Ferroviarias (IF).
  • Experience in management with independent assessment bodies for Safety (ISA/AsBo), TSI (NoBo), and national requirements (DeBo)
  • Knowledge in traction systems, train control.
