Job Title: Project Manager – Onboard & Urban Signalling

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can’t afford to fail. We’re more than 85 000 people worldwide creating the industry’s most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More than a job: a mission

We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead Onboard & Urban Signalling projects in Madrid, driving execution and ensuring delivery of critical transport systems that connect cities and reduce carbon footprint.
You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication - because they know what’s at stake: the journey home.

Your role, your impact

• Plan and manage full project execution from transfer to close-out, in line with Contract / Program Charter
• Lead project teams, including core members and partners (internal & external)
• Manage project performance (cash, margin, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction)
• Ensure contract compliance and protect Alstom’s legal and contractual rights
• Drive risk and opportunity management proactively
• Align stakeholders and represent Alstom towards customers and partners
• Monitor KPIs and report transparently to senior management
• Ensure full compliance with EHS standards and Code of Ethics

You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across engineering, finance, legal, operations and customer stakeholders - solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility.

What you bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
• 5–8 years of Project Management experience
• Background in railway systems is highly valued
• Strong knowledge of project management processes
• Experience managing subcontractors and diverse product environments
• Experience working in multicultural and multinational contexts
• Fluent Spanish and high level of English (French is a plus)
• Goal-oriented mindset and strong leadership skills

How success is measured

• Delivery on time, within budget and quality targets (QCD)
• Project P&L performance and margin
• KPI achievement (sales, physical progress, cash-in, customer satisfaction, EHS)
• Stakeholder alignment and effective governance
• Risk mitigation and opportunity capture

Alstom, a great place to grow

• Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
• Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
• Contribute to innovative signalling and mobility projects
• Utilise our Agile and cooperative working environment
• Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
• Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
• Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential

Here, progress isn’t always easy - the scale is massive, the tasks are complex - but the impact is real. Because when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects - that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
