Your future role 

 

Take on a new challenge and apply your Validation and Verification expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside young and talented teammates. 

 

You'll take part in building the foundations of Alstom platforms by leading, organizing and performing the verification, integration and test activities of developments ranging from software to product and system programs fitting the needs in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Security Signalling Team, Product Architect…), defining and leading all the in-house program activities related with Verification, Integration and Testing, either performed by a team in V&V department or delegated to experts in other Development Center (DC) departments, cooperating with Security signaling team to complement V&V activities with end-user integration scenarios, and much more. 

 

You’ll specifically take care of defining and deploying an automation strategy for Validation activities related to the program (WPF application), including the different test families and using technologies such as Cucumber, jmeter, Postman... but also sharing with Product Architect the V&V strategy defined to deliver a validated program and agree on requested budget and schedule of inputs and deliverables.

 

We’ll look to you for:  

  • Define the Program Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, to ensure proper coverage and demonstration that design requirements and intended use cases are met. Collect the contributions of all involved stakeholders.
  • Ensure the application and adherence to the reference processes, methods & tools, requesting deviations whenever appropriate.
  • Define and agree V&V activity schedule.
  • Organize and lead documental verification and reviews.
  • Manage full verification and validation of the equipment under test.
  • Define and deploy an automation strategy for Validation activities related to the program, including the different test families and using technologies such as Cucumber, jmeter, Postman...
  • Migrate the way of working from manual testing to automated testing.
  • Monitor and follow-up execution and reporting of activities delegated to experts in other departments.
  • Technical Management (Configuration, Change Control and Requirement traceability).
  • Perform and follow up V&V SW phases of the product, with strong liaison with Product Architect.
  • Define needs, architecture, and follow-up implementation of testbenches and analysis tools.
  • Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of Test progress, issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Manage functionally the Program Verification & Validation Team and ensure/control their deliverables for the project.
  • Ensure independence of verification from design.
  • Select and manage subcontractors.
  • Manage work packages or WP tasks.
  • Preparation and active participation for Program Gate Reviews following Program DFQ cycle.

Performance management: 

  • DNDR (Defect Non-Detection Rate)
  • DQI (Delivery Quality Indicator)
  • CPI (Coverage Progress Indicator)
  • Cooperation and support to Root Cause Analysis

 

All about you

  • Graduated is mandatory, to have a master’s degree in engineering or scientific topics will be value.
  • Languages: English (full proficient use) and Spanish (full proficient use) French will be a plus.
  • Good analytical skill and previous experience in test & integration are required. In alternative, you will have an experience in system engineering or Safety Assurance.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of security solutions (CCTV, PA, PIS, Telephony, Communications, others...) and integrated control centers.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience on software agile projects and continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Demonstrable knowledge on testing automation strategy and deployment for SW development (use of SW tools such as Cucumber, …) and basic programming knowledge.
  • Knowledge and demonstrable skills using Microsoft Azure DevOps (or similar) for version control, reporting requirements management, program management, documentation management, testing, etc... will be an asset.
  • At least 5 years in relevant positions (systems / sub-systems integration, embedded equipment, electrotechnical product development) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signalling, aerospace, defense, nuclear) would be a major asset.
  • Engineering and system background
  • Being Open-minded, a team motivator, having leadership skills, have the ability of problem setting and problem solving, (Self) entrepreneurial, having a sense of urgency, and having writing skills like clarity, rigor, and concision, will be competencies that will be interesting to this position.
