We are seeking a leader to manage and direct diverse projects with one of our most important clients based at Los Angeles Airport.

 

Purpose of the Job

  • Drive project execution, to maximize the results concerning cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with the contract / Program Charter according to Customer/Platform expectations and the requirements on EHS.

  • Constantly seek and propose to the Customer Director/Country MD/TK NAM MD/Regional President additional opportunities in the frame of the contract Charter; ensure Alstom Transport legal and contractual rights are protected.

  • To lead and represent the Consortium in front of the Customer, related to commercial, technical, and financial aspects of the Project.

 

What your day-to-day would look like:

  • Plan and manage the complete execution of his/her scope from transfer to close out, in line with Contract requirements.

  • Lead a Project Team, including Core Team and external partners (Consortium) in line with the project structure. Define and cascade project execution strategy.

  • Perform project management and contract administration according to Alstom Project Management Manual, including proactive risk and opportunity management, and in full compliance with e-book rules.

  • Ensure completion of Project Performance goals to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure integration and coordination between all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Responsible and accountable for the Project's Profit and Loss, to maximize cash and margin results.

  • Deliver projects according to QCDP, Contract, and Safety commitments as specified at contract signature & related signed Variation Orders.

  • Ensures arbitration of QCDP re-baselining and change management at the project level.

  • Ensure that project workload needs are well forecasted and anticipated by Project Core Team.

  • Participate & prepare Projects Reviews of projects under his/her control as per rules defined in Alstom’s instructions.

  • Represent Alstom towards Customers and external stakeholders (Consortium).

  • Define, review & adjust strategies of the project with Americas President, TK NAM MD, and Systems VP periodically.

  • Ensure optimal quality of project execution and reviews.

  • Animate and lead operationally the Project Core Team, defining the project priorities.

  • Ensure that critical aspects are identified in reviews and proactively / professionally addressed and followed up.

  • Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned toward project goals.

  • EHS: Accountable for the proper implementation of the Alstom policy and Customer requirements by all stakeholders (internal & external) including suppliers and contractors.

  • Report to senior management, with transparency, the situation of the project and its KPIs, during the business/sector project reviews.

 

Educational/ Skills/ Experience

  • Project management background of at least 10 years on projects with the same complexity

  • Strong knowledge of constructions projects 

  • Great commercial skills 

  • Good knowledge of railway products and systems (plus) 

  • Experience managing virtual teams 

  • Conflict management and interpersonal skills

  • Team spirit approach and good communication skills

  • Communication abilities to obtain collaboration from the matrix organization involved in the project

  • Anticipation, clear reporting
