Your mission?

Working with subject matter experts across the business both internally and externally you will develop and design creative solutions that meet the complex needs of our business using the best blended learning solutions to drive learning effectiveness delivering on quality, cost and efficiency.  The role will also look at the best solutions and platforms to deliver our content embracing new technologies and working closely with all stakeholders to meet the growing needs of our business driving learning and safety compliance.

 

 

Your profile?

 

You are an experienced learning practicioner who is able to use learning theory and design to target learning solutions that embrace the idea of the 70/20/10 learning model.  Supporting both classroom and digital learning to develop ongoing competence and support continuous learning.  An experienced LMS/LXP user able to design and generate content. 

 

Your key responsibilities?

Design and develop learning content

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify learning needs
  • Using instructional design models e.g. ADDIE to develop content
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
  • Identify the best blended learning solution using a variety of media
  • Champion good learning practices and new learning initiatives
  • Identify internal and external resources to support learning and development initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to adapt existing content to blended learning
  • Create clear evaluation methods to measure the learning outcomes
  • Work closely to coach and develop the expertise of T&C team to deliver blended learning solutions

Learning Strategy

  • Support Services to deliver the T&C strategy through creative learning solutions working with Alstom University
  • Work with existing stakeholders both internally and externally to maximise the benefits of all learning systems
  • Develop relationships with internal functions to develop delivery channels
  • Create relationships with internal/external suppliers eg VR/AR providers to look at viability of learning, purchase of existing content, customising content

 

Learning Systems Management and Governance 

  • Oversee the day to day management and governance of all T&C interfaced systems 
  • Train, coach and support T&C team in the use of learning systems

Minimum qualifications:

 

  • At least 2 years demonstrable experience of instructional and multimedia learning design 
  • Experienced LMS and multimedia design application user and admin 
  • Engineering/Technical Educational Background 
  • Qualified trainer/learning specialist (assessor desirable)
  • Learning and development coaching experience
  • Successful track record influencing people and project control
  • Knowledge of the railway industry and of its trends with specific reference to train maintenance & railway competency legislation
  • Fluent English (negotiation level required)
  • Open to frequent travels across the UK
