It is building the UK’s biggest train programme in a generation – AVENTRA - for seven of the UK’s largest train operating companies, is ramping up to build the next generation of Greater Dublin’s commuter trains, DART+ as well as 54 HS2 high-speed trains in a Joint Venture. Alstom also supports 66% of the UK fleet through its Services business and is the UK’s leading CP6 signalling & infrastructure provider.

Employing 6,000 people across the UK and Ireland, we design, build and test trains at the UK’s largest end-to-end train manufacturing factory in Derby and operate major sites at Widnes, Crewe, Ilford and Plymouth, as well as 30 train services depots across the UK&I

Your future role

Roles available are:

Supply Chain - location Widnes, Derby or London

Procurement - Location Widnes, Derby or London

You will complete a two-year accredited development programme whilst providing a tangible contribution to the success of the team. During the programme, you will undertake a series of rotations around the function gaining an understanding of the business and the service operation lifecycle.

Developing your knowledge during your time at Alstom is key, along with developing your skills, experience and leadership mindset. Within a climate of innovation, you will also support solutions to meet the customer requirements as part of the safety case and train presentation, support the identification and delivery of continuous improvement. 

You will have the opportunity to complete on the job learning, which is complemented by a modular personal development programme. Supported by a mentor, you will be able to work towards gaining a relevant professional qualification.

All about you

You will need a minimum 2:1 BEng or MEng in a Business degree.  Candidates must have excellent problem-solving skills, a can do attitude and a passion for making things happen. 

As part of the application process, you will need to answer a series of mandatory questions; please allocate a few minutes in going through them and answering, as they are the first shift out step.
