Your future role
The role of Technical Trainer Assessor is a pivotal position within Alstom and requires a capable engineer who is confident in managing their own workload and communicating with all levels of employee from shop floor to senior management. The successful candidate will be a self starter and capable of working within a team and on their own, flexibility is a core requirement.
The role is based around a flexible work pattern, mostly on dayshift, although nightshifts and out of hours working will be required. Alstom Trainers are attached to one or two sites, but work as a team and are expected to attend any site within the UK, when required.
We’ll look to you for:
- Carry out competence assessments on staff, certify competence and ensure records are maintained to an auditable standard that meets requirement of current legislation
- Carry out risk assessments on appropriate work tasks at all depots as required
- Develop and deliver training courses e.g. technical VIT courses, systems training, Health and Safety training etc.
- Carry out in-process audits, product assurance and compliance checks
- Input and maintain data in technical competency and learning management systems to support the needs of the depot and the team
- Support with the Internal Verification process of technical training and assessment
- Travel between relevant Depots to fulfil Training and Assessment responsibilities

- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical and / or Electrical Engineering - or equivalent
- A recognised assessor qualification
- Current driving licence
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Competent with Microsoft packages
- Other training capability in plant and equipment
