Join us as Methods Manager, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in La Pocatiere,Quebec.

 

For nearly 50 years, the La Pocatière site, a historic factory inherited from Bombardier Transport, has been a major player in the Quebec economy. The plant produces rail vehicles for passenger transport and is a center of excellence in the manufacture of stainless steel rolling stock.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and direction within his team. Ensures adherence to engineering processes to deliver high quality designs that meet customer schedule and expectations.
  • Remains in close contact with staff on the status of their work. Keeps track of their progress and adherence to budgeted hours through task scheduling. Develops action plans and coordinates resources to respond or resolve issues as needed.
  • Ensures the team is focused on meeting financial requirements, on schedule, and using the best techniques for the projects they are responsible for.
  • Develop team members to reach their full potential and maximum contributions. Creates and implements improvement forecasts for employee skills, motivation, and engagement. Management and development of relevant skills (workforce planning, performance management, career development, succession planning and recruitment).
  • Optimizes communication and relationships with customers and other functions. Continuous optimization of processes / tools / behaviors considering business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions.

 

REQUIRED PROFILE:

Qualifications and functional knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree or DEC in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Perfect command of French and English
  • Management experience in the manufacturing sector

Technical skills

  • Excellent communicator and teamwork
  • Knowledge of the Office suite
  • Knowledge of welding is an asset
  • Available to travel
