Job Summary
The EHS Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The role supports safe work practices, promotes a safety culture, and minimizes workplace risks.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Management
- Enforce workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment at all times.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Ensure compliance with local EHS regulations, codes, and standards.
- Maintain EHS documentation, reports, permits, and records.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors when required.
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare incident reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct EHS inductions and ongoing safety training programs.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure employees and contractors understand EHS requirements.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track safety performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare EHS reports for management review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance.
Contractor & Site Safety
- Monitor contractor compliance with EHS requirements.
- Conduct site safety inspections for ongoing operations.
- Ensure safe work practices during high-risk activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in EHS, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
Certifications (Preferred)
- SSS (Yellow Book) is an advantage.
- Other certifications related to Occupational Safety and Health
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
- Excellent observation and hazard identification skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to investigate incidents and analyze data
- Strong organizational and reporting skills
- Leadership and problem-solving abilities
