About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Alstom has set up an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and this coupled with a strong manufacturing base as well as localized supply chains, is uniquely positioned to serve customers across the globe.   • Is the guarantor of the respect of the norms and / or specifications applicable to the markets partially and ensure the implementation of welding process in shopfloor



  • Participate in the technical review , perform assesment for accessibilty and defines sequence of welds, check joint preparation.
  • Participates in supplier audits.
  • Ensures the suitability of welding and associated equipment.
  • Preparation of Weld plan and allocation of qualified welders.
  • Performance and assessment of Welding Procedure Qualification.
  • Ensures a technological watch (evolution of standards, technology or materials, ...)
  • Ensure the compatability of welding consumables as well as storage and handling of welding consumables & Parent material.
  • Inspection before, during and after welding visual inspection.
  • Support responsible welding coordinator in the reduction of Defects by participating in root cause analysis and implementation of action plan.
  • With regard to health and safety and environmental issues, all relevant rules and regulations shall be considered and ensured.

Qualifications & Skills:



  • IWE or IWT or IWS
  • BE / B Tech or Diploma (Mechanical)

  1. Should have an experience in Heavy Metal Welding Industry
  2. Should be able to give training to Engineers and Welders
  3. Expérience in Locomotive/ Automobile Industry would be preferred.


  • Fresh Graduate / Min 2 Yrs Industry experience (for IWE)
  • Min. 3 Years Expérience (for IWT)
  • Min. 12 Years Expérience (for IWS)
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
  • IT Skills: MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
