Joining us means joining a truly global community of more than 75 000 people dedicated to solving real-world mobility challenges and achieving international projects with sustainable local impact.

Join us as Operation Analyst, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in  Kingston (ON), CA.

This position is required to simulate the operation of transit systems to forecast the system performance.  Such performance characteristics as travel times, headway, dwell, passenger allowances, and fleet size are to be simulated using simulation tools developed for this purpose.  The Ops Analyst will be required to understand and clarify client specifications, define and receive simulation input requirements and clearly describe complex train operations in reports.

  • Review and understand client requirements and prepare compliance statements against them for bid and project work.  Recommend solutions to minimize costs.
  • Define input requirements needed from internal and external partners and clients to complete simulations.  Train staff on simulation tools.
  • Use simulation tools to simulate train operations on various operating scenarios and conditions.
  • Prepare reports to clearly describe the simulation outputs.  Outputs will be used to size many aspects of the Rolling Stock and wayside subsystems design.
  • Validate simulations against real world operation.  Meet with customers and partners to propose improvements in requirements and design.

  • Bachelor or Master in Engineering

Relevant experience required

  • Experience with transit system design and implementation with focus on train operations planning.
  • In depth understanding of the principles of vehicle dynamics, train performance, operations and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare concise analysis reports based on system simulations.
  • Analytical thinker and able to explain the results of complex system simulations.
